Review: T3 Basic Spark Essence Raid Event
For an event that held so much promise, it delivered very little and cost a lot. At present, T3 Basic Sparks are the alpha resource of Transformers: Forged to Fight, the hardest resource to grind and the core ingredient needed to rank up anything above a 2/4 4-Star bot. It was no surprise then that mid to end-game players like myself leapt for joy when presented with the opportunity to assemble our very own T3 Basic Spark within a week.
The true winners of this event would have to be Kabam.
TL:DR T3 Basic Spark Essence Raid Event was a time and resource intensive exercise that was difficult to complete, and if you did, may have cost you nearly the same amount of Energon as if you were to buy it straight off the shelf – which really, makes it a very poor return for the time and money put in.

Assemble you’re a T3 Basic Spark in one week, oh boy! |
A torturous grind
To cap your daily allotment of 5 purchases, you would have to turn in an excess of 100,000 raid chips a day, which in itself is no mean feat. I would, on average get between 5,000 and 6,000 chips per raid. Assuming I amassed 18,000 raid chips in one sitting (3 raids), I would have to return in excess of 5 times a day which is a big ask even for hardcore gamers who dedicate 3+ hours to the game. Also, the math only checks out if you do not get raided and (god forbid) you fail on an attack, because if you did, it’s more grinding for you!An expensive chase
To offset the many times I could not raid and or to make up for chips lost to failed defenses, I had to turn to Energon. Over the week I spent approximately 1,000 Energon which I found to be still acceptable given the rarity of the event and the “off-season cost” of purchasing a T3 Basic Spark off the shelf (which I make out to be about 2,000 Energon). This was an expensive exercise – one that's intrinsically more expensive if you factor in the price of time.If you were to put a price on a T3 Basic Spark, it's about 2,000 Energon |
Results
At the end of the week, I did not amass enough essences to complete my own T3 Basic Spark. After all my mad rushing and binge raiding I managed only 7,200 T3 Basic Spark Essences from the event (I missed on average 1 purchase a day, which hurt, because the final buy was always the cheapest). For having doubled, if not tripled my play time, the payoff from the T3 Basic Spark Raid Event was considerably underwhelming. The true winners of this event would have to be Kabam.
