Free to Play Tips: Transcending Artifacts 101

So, you’ve been amassing artifacts, or arts, and now you have enough to transcend them, what should you do? Well, before you get started, let me stress that you should NOT be transcending anything lower than a 6-star artifact. They are simply not worth the trouble (resource wise). If that was your intention, stop right now. Otherwise, here we go:

Preface

You may only transcend 1 artifact a day, and you may only begin transcending artifacts to 2 and 3-trans levels after you’ve completed transcending every single artifact in the previous tier (e.g. you can only begin 2-trans level for your 6-star arts after you’ve upgraded every single 6-star art into 1-trans level, and this includes the ones you haven’t collected yet – so buy them all if you’ve not already collected all of them already).

Step 1: Accessing Artifact Transcend

Interact with the artifact transcend icon (left-most) in the mid-panel of the Artifact tab. You will be given the option to transcend artifacts once the conditions have been met (refer to preface for more information).

Step 2: Selecting Materials

Transcending artifacts require the “tribute”/sacrifice of 3 units, usually 2X 5-star units and 1X 6-star (aka senior) unit. The cost of this does increase if you’re transcending from a 2-trans level art to a 3-trans level art, with the requirement for that being 1X 5-star unit and 2X 6-star units.

If you find that the unit composition requirement to be undesirable, you may “change the materials” required by interacting with the button of the same name. “Materials” are changed at random and will cost you Honor Coins to do so. There isn’t a limit to how many times you can change the required materials but generally, you won’t want to refresh this too many times unless the game persistently involves a high-value unit (i.e. Priest, Fairy, Hippogriff etc. assuming you do not have the optimal number yet).

Generally, acceptable units (5 star or higher) to put into the grinder are: Dark Ninja, Druid, Forest Guardian, Ent, Wolf Warrior, Succubus, Golem, Hands of Death, Bomb Unit, Death Knight, Wolf Rider, Big Foot, and Ice Wizard.

Step 3: Making the Transcend

Once you’ve settled on the materials, hit Transcend (this will cost you 300 Honor Coins). After a short animation, the transcended artifact will pop into view.  You may then choose if you want to keep this transcend or have it re-rolled with a chance of transcending another piece in your arsenal that hasn’t yet been transcended. Doing so will cost you 500 gems.

Do note that you may only perform this change once per transcend. That said, you are ill-advised to utilise this feature as you will eventually want all your artifacts to be transcended, so save your 500 gems.

The option to change will not exist anymore.

Congratulations, you have made your first transcend! Or, if you haven’t yet, we hope you have found this guide to transcending useful! Leave us a comment to share your experiences transcending your 6 or 7-star arts.
