Free to Play Tips: What’s in an Artifact Set Enhancement?

As of patch 2.4.3, we can now enhance artifact sets! Hooray! But what’s does this process entail and should you do it?

What is Artifact Set Enhancements?

Artifact set enhancements are actions you can take to improve the set bonuses/rewards that come with running pairs or complete artifact sets. Generally, these rewards are already quite strong, but as you reach for end-game content, artifact enhancements become a powerful honor points sink that will help expedite late-game progression.

The cost of enhancing an artifact set is gems, and not honor coins (thank goodness), and will only work twice for 6-star artifact sets, and three times for 7-star artifact sets. There is a minimum level requirement on all of the artifacts within the set if you do choose to enhance it and that is 50, for first enhancement, 70, for the second enhancement, and 100, for the third and final enhancement. Meaning all artifacts within the set will have to be of level 50 or higher before you can undergo the first enhancement, and so on. 

Should I enhance my artifact set?

Yes, to all relevant 7-star artifact sets (relevant meaning you’re already running with them). Yes, to all critical 6-star artifact sets IF you don’t have enough 7-star artifacts yet to begin the transcending process them, or if you are in the process of doing so (i.e. transcending 7-star artifacts); the latter piece of advice being up to the individual’s preference. And a resounding NO, if it’s anything less than that. i.e. You should not be enhancing anything 5-star or lower. There are better uses for gems at that stage. 

What’s in an Enhancement? 

Significant gains, and they represent, in our opinion, the most cost effective leaps in economy and power enhancements.
